Sorry to read surftb15 that you paid so much money and had to endure this. Personally I am slowly moving away from "luxury" properties heading for smaller "inn like" places preferably with a Michelin star. There IS with all the "younger" or / and "new rich" people around an increasing risk of "partying" and I am not looking for this.

Today, the GM said

"I left at 11:30 pm and I didn't think the music was too loud."
"We have these Australians and they like to party, they were playing music from their ipod."
"Last week the music ended at 10:00 pm"
"we gave you an upgrade but it backfired"
Please name the property. Did the GM really tell you all the above in person, if yes, especially the "backfire" remark is insulting.

The very least they can do is to comp you that night. Otherwise you should leave.

Villa Sant'Andrea is unlucky to have all these events. My experience there was an "upgraded" room just above a function with outside terrace and people smoking heavily. I was moved within 5 minutes to the top floor which is a little bit back and very quiet. All this mentioned I prefer Timeo by far spending this kind of money at an Orient Express Hotel (aka as Belmond).
