A real first world problem I need some help with. There are 6 of us including 2 kids traveling to JFK in the summer, I booked it in CW on a BA 744, but the opportunity has arisen to Uua 3 of the party to F, I thought I would upgrade my parents and my wife and I would slum it in CW with my two boys obviously hoping nearer the time 3 more F seats open up, but not too bothered if they don't.

I wanted half the party in F, rather than just my parents so we can all go to the CCR, but I am not sure if my wife would rather be in CW with the boys and me. If I upgrade her, would she be able to voluntarily downgrade once in the CCR, or would it be possible to speak to whoever was in the CW seat my wife wanted and see if they would swap for F, not sure if that is allowed and may not work unless they are travelling on their own. Does anyone with an F ticket ever request to travel CW instead?
