To date none of my rides not taken were posted until I actually took the ride. I ride Amtrak from PHL to DC often (over 20K Amtrak Guest Reward points and already qualified for Select level for next year). Often, I would just get to the station few minutes before an earlier train departs. If I decide to take it, it is often faster to purchase another ticket from the machine than to go to the ticket counter. When this happens, they only post the ride I actually took. Also, before they install more ticket machines at PHL and DC, I used to buy/pickup tickets prior to day of travel and end up not traveling. Those do not post either. Eventually when I find time and exchange the ticket/travel, it posts.
