Wife and I are going to Charleston next week and staying at the Marriott using points. We would like to stay at the Renaissance but I have been checking for the last two months and no availability anyone had any luck getting Marriott to open nights up at a property?

I understand the Renaissance is the better of the properties and better location. I have plenty of points to burn and would prefer to stay there but I haven't even been able to find a rate.

Anyone have any suggestions for getting a room with points. I haven't tried calling just to ask if there is a way but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am a Marriott Platinum and have been for many years.
