text messages about billing?

I searched the thread and didn't find anything on this (apologies if this has been asked and answered). I'm new to T-mobile, first trip out of the country using the international data plan. I'm in Europe (Denmark and Sweden) so in covered countries. Data works, at the suggestion of the help desk I typed #RON# into my phone and activated international data. All is good (albeit slow) except I keep getting text messages that I have reached ($50, 100, 200) worth of international roaming. T-mobile's help line assures me I'm not being charged, as I'm in a covered country, but this is really weird (and a bit disconcerting as the amounts go up and up). Has anyone experienced this before? T-mobile can't tell me why I am getting these texts.... figured you guys might be more helpful than the help desk!
