I have done a 7:30hrs overnight layover in DOH once. I spent it all at the Al Mourjan lounge. It was fine but kinda boring after a while. I mean how much food, booze and showers does one require?

If your fare is not eligible for a transit accommodation I say get a hotel room. HIA hotel is one option (www.hiahotel.com) which is airside in the terminal.
