Were you able to successfully unbrick your TM04? I agree that it's a Swiss Army Knife (a reason why I got it) but the factory stock firmware can't do the one thing I really want (act as an OpenVPN client). You said you were able to get OpenVPN working in WISP mode. Could you please tell us how? Start from the beginning by telling which OpenWRT image (r44945, r42649, other?) you initially flashed and what you did next. And did the TM04 still work as an OpenVPN client when wired to the internet via an ethernet cable?

Although I've flashed DDWRT many times it seems like one must know what they're doing before flashing OpenWRT but it's hard finding concise directions specifically for the TM04 for a newbie like me to follow, so any help would be great appreciated!
