Comment:
This laid back aura may have disappeared by now. A new international airport was under construction, so I'm not sure about present atmosphere on the Island. We were there at the beginning of 2013.

Definitely visit Sao Beach.
New airport is great.
High season (Dec - Apr) might be a little crowded.
Huge amount of development going on along Long Beach.
