It depends a lot on where in L.A. you need to be. Santa Barbara, Newport Beach, or Laguna Beach, for example, could take a LONG time to get to L.A. downtown.

Do not underestimate traffic! Best selection if you actually need to be in L.A. would be found in Beverly Hills.
