Don't these people actually try these seats in a real setting with multiple others testing at the same time? Seems so simple and I would have noticed this in design testing immediately. I think AA does seats better than any US carrier but this is just ridiculous and sloppy on their behalf
Keep in mind, the last several seats AA installed were *widely* used seats "off the shelf"-- The Cirrus seat in 77W, the Vantage in 763, the A321 seats (B/E's Diamond in J) and, actually, now that you mention it, the Cirrus variant in A321 F might be another example-- better "on paper" than in execution.
But this seat was entirely new. Do agree though if the problem is as bad as described, will be annoying.
