Strange, I've had quite the opposite happen, changed like you to Westpac (and ANZ) cards and had new gifting register added to my Air NZ account just like it says on the Comparison table on the Air NZ web-site but it says it's because of my ANZ card (which is not offered on the table) not my Westpac card (which is). There's no method to the madness at the moment
