For example, have you ever heard of the Northern Line? Lots of people pay for that.
But this is not a good comparison. There is no alternative to the Northern Line but there are many alternatives to BA even with BA itself. When you are looking to buy a ticket you have many options. Nobody is forcing people to pay for what BA passes as a premium cabin. If you don't like CE you don't have to pay for it - you can pay the cheapest price for ET and have the same seat, the same drinks (but for champagne and with no choice of wines) and from no meal to something to nibble on. So, you do have a choice of paying for a premium product (if you really believe that it is premium and worth the extra money) or you can pay for the standard offering if you don't believe that the premium product warrants the higher price. I can understand that you may also not quite like ET but at least by paying ET you won't be wasting money on something that you don't consider a premium product. Or am I missing something?
