PHX to HKG is a long flight in economy. 4 nights is a short visit for a long flight in economy. Times for arrival and departure are factors. Ambassador status includes 4 PM check out and upgrade. Upgrades at IC HK are easy enough... city view upgrades to city view, harbor view upgrades to harbor view. No upgrade from city view to harbor view. Stayed two long nights in a suite (8 AM check in and 4 PM check out) associated with a Royal Ambassador stay. The view is amazing. The buffet and the view at the buffet is not to be missed. Transportation to and from is easy enough via the train. Hong Kong is quite easy to navigate. The masses of people and the fumes from the buses are a hindrance so beware.
I flew MRs to Dubai and South Africa 5 times last year--mostly in Y. I am not flying to HKG in Y, though. I used Delta UG certs to UG to J and used 140k Skymiles to get my girl's ticket. So we will be fine after the flight.
