Of course those freebies will disappear. Do you think that SEA flyers would decide strictly upon them? You make it seem as if DL does not contribute to the economies of their hubs. That is patently untrue and, to use your terminology, dishonest.

This sort of marketing is fun. I suspect it keeps marketing folks employed. But nobody with a half a brain thinks it is sustainable. They know that they will eventually revert to the mean. Where I disagree with you is what that mean is. You seem to want to pretend that the mean is DL = Bad. AS = Good. The reality is that DL = international. AS = domestic. That is the real choice. I suspect that Seattle flyers will choose international.
