At a hotel in Mexixo using online check in for the second time
Did not get pre upgraded but asked at the desk and they said they had upgrades available but that they had already given me my room of choice
Little bit of a language barrier at this hotel desk but I picked up that the online check in definitely appears to decrease chance of an upgrade as they appear to want to give you your selected room
