Thanks for the responses--I wish booking tickets and mileage wasn't so complicated--but i'm trying to figure it all out.

A few questions:

1. You said my BF will have better seat options due to his priority? If I make the reservation on Air France but include his skymiles #, will we both get those better seat options?

2. I admit I'm a bit of a mileage newbie, just always been a big traveler, so when you say "MQDs and RMDs are a different story. If you want those based on ticket price (MQD) and the medallion multiplier (RDM) you will need to purchase through a Delta channel"-- between MQDs and RMDs, is one preferable over the other?

3. No matter which booking class I try on the delta.com site, I can't seem to even remotely match the AirFrance fare for this trip--I will go ahead and call Delta to see if they are able to book it over the phone. If not I will book via the Air France site, I guess.
