Reminds me of a time there was 6 six of us flying WT+ from BOS to LHR. 5 of us, including myself got upgraded at the gate (back in the days before the early morning flight and the evening flights were heavily oversold), the one colleague who didn't had a surname beginning with 'W'.

He remains convinced to this day, they upgraded in alphabetical order.
