How is it double dipping?

The whole idea of a status match is to shift from one program to another, in this case from UA 1K to AC E50K. I am already downgrading from the 100% bonus miles of 1K to the 50% bonus miles of E50K whenever I credit the flights.

Airlines do status matches to attract elites from other airlines. AC did not just status match me from nothing. That would make it a charity.

I mean, I guess I can be grateful that AC status matched me for 6 months with a 5 month qualification period. But it's hard to be grateful to anyone that takes months to respond to an email. It's a business, and if AC isn't acting like one, I can and will continue to take it elsewhere.
