Plus for someone who "knows how status matches work, thank you very much", it's hard to have much sympathy for the oh-poor-me routine. Especially since further up the thread, OP complains about being unaware of AC's requirements.
Are you accusing me of being over entitled?

The reason I didn't bother crediting flights to AC when my status match was not confirmed for the first half of the year is that there's a real cost for doing so.

You get a 100% bonus mileage as a UA 1K similar to AC SE. So why would I give up a 100% bonus mileage on all my flying the first half of the year for a no-status Aeroplan account?

AC confirmed my status match way too late and then gave me half the normal time frame to qualify for regular Altitude status. No thanks.

While AC can be faulted for not responding sooner and confirming granting of status, OP made effort to put flights into that AC account. (Not sure where OP is based and if s/he even flew AC during this period.)

When I increased my flying on UA and wanted to benefit from E+ and upgrades, etc. I was an AC SE. However, I didn't request a status match from UA, I just started putting my flights into an MP account and made my way up the tiers to 1K. Through that period I used my AC*SE/STARGold status benefits when flying UA. (And I continued to put my AC and some STAR flights into my AE account to continue earning AC status.)

But in that case, I have no sympathy for you. They gave you a status match for over 6 months and you credited no flights whatsoever? I would have done the same if I were them.

That being said, the length of time it took them to respond to your request is pretty awful.
You lose out on a ton of bonus miles if you are jumping from a 1K that was giving 100% bonus miles to a normal altitude account that gives 0%

Maybe AC just figured things out or ask UA for his flight records and found out the truth.
Once you figure out the "games" I'm playing with all the airlines, I'd be glad for you to tell me about them

Now I suddenly realize how I think Dorian feels around here

EDIT: and lol at you telling me that i "not fly much", what do you think you know about me
