Even if AA were an MR transfer partner, it would still be cheaper to transfer to BA rather than to AA.
For the
very same Coach "SAAver" award seat on a MIA-CUN nonstop in July, BA would charge 4,500 Avios; AA would charge 17,500 AAdvantage miles. Different programs, different redemption rates. (The same disparity exists on the MIA-PLS route.)
Of course, the OP should make sure that SAAver award seats are available on the desired dates of travel, before transferring any MR points to BA.
