If you are focused on earning BA points, as ESFLYER95 says, you can book a Qantas flight number on a service operated by Emirates (a so called "codeshare": the flight number will be QF80xx, where xx corresponds to the Emirates flight number for the same flight) and earn BA points.
Emirates do have a great business class (arguably the best), however only on their newer aircraft.
If you are unlucky enough, which is quite likely nowadays, to have your plane switched or book into a flight without their new business class, you are resigned to an awful hard product in business class. No one wants a slopey business class seat.
If you value a flat bed and would like to guarantee it, book BA.
