If you read this entire thread, you will see (circa 2012) that the hotel had a free mini bar. That policy was abused (obviously) and is no longer (hence my ref to remember when.......).
The current policy is that since the hotel does not provide a lounge, guest are permitted to take 3,000 JPNY from the mini bar free of charge. That is the way Miyata (one of the butlers) explained it to me. Sounds like status quo?
If you read the entire thread, I did not say the policy changed. Instead, it was inferred from my review.
I hope this clarifies the situation.
