The same thing happened to me at a Jumeirah hotel at Easter in Dubai.

First, you ask for your night to be comped. If you are not paying personnally, ask for equivalent points based on £5 per 1000.

(Expect to get some cr&p in return. I was told that, as I had slept for half the night, I should only have half a night comped. I soon sorted that out.)

Keep ringing the duty manager now and demand to be put through to the manager at home. They won't do it but it shows you are serious.

Second, you check out. First night, blame the hotel. Second night, you blame yourself if you stay. If stay is prepaid, simply dispute the charge with your card company. The hotel will not sue you because they know they will lose.

Hotels which behave like this need to understand that it is not acceptable. In our case at Easter, they let a wedding party have the grounds under our window for a non-stop party until 1am. Even after I got the night comped I wasn't happy, because I couldn't give a toss about the money but I do give a toss about me, my wife and little kids (who go to bed at 7pm normally) sleeping.

I do struggle to believe that the temperature is 'unncessarily high', though, given that I wore a coat and jumper in London on Sunday afternoon (although I am now in Sweden).
