When my mum flew LGW-KHI in March, she was asked by one of the ground staff at LGW if she wanted to fly tomorrow instead as the flight had been overbooked (in Y). They said she would be provided with food, a hotel, a guaranteed seat on the flight the next day and for compensation, a free return ticket to Karachi which could be used anytime next year.
