The value for me lies not in the price (which is too high but I can live with it) but the speed and reliability of grade-separated train.

I work near Union and this means I can leave my office 10 minutes before a train and know when I'm going to be at YYZ. The TTC is far too unreliable(and often crowded), so where I should be able to count on a 35 minute desk->YYZ trip, the TTC is 70-100 minutes.
