Hi,

I'm considering booking a flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Amritsar (ATQ), and the flight seems to go from Toronto to JFK through American Airlines, and then Qatar Airways from there to Doha and then to ATQ.

According to the Qatar Airways webpage, it says that the first airline's rules apply for Canadian origin or destination flights.

Does that mean that even though I am buying a single ticket, I'd be allowed 0 checked baggage free (as per American Airlines rules) for an international journey? The CS rep when I called Qatar said that Qatar's rules should apply so I should get 2 checked bags but somehow I think she may be wrong.

Any advice?
