I ended up taking a taxi all the way from Hongqiao, being too tired to want to deal with the Metro. There was a 35 minute wait in the taxi line, and one tout offering to relieve people of the wait - though a "No thank you" sent him on his way. I had initial doubts about the taxi I ended up with -a red/maroon Hyundai with no taxi company name and no divider around the driver - but the meter was running from the start, he took a quick and direct route to the hotel, drove safely, and the fare was only 115RMB.
