In the US having an IC or any other major chain elite tag wouldn't bother me (though rifling through luggage certainly happens in some airports) but in less developed countries I'd also have concern about it being a target.
Or they may think its another work flyer flying to an exciting power point presentation or meeting with a client
I'd be more concerned about having a branded suitcase than an elite tag.
If I am a baggage handler, I m going thru that $800 bag, and not the $20 walmart one.
