The restaurant for breakfast was very good with a nice selection. The bar was very busy both nights and had great service.

The only issue I had with the hotel was the parking fees. Its 60 Euro a day for their parking garage (which is privately owned). The FD told me that street parking is the preferred option as its free from 19:00 - 09:00. I parked just a few minutes from the hotel (almost the same distance to their parking garage).

I'd recommend the hotel if this is how they treat Plats on award stays.
Yes they will upgrade on both award and paid reservations, and from base room
to end of corridor 2-room j-suite which is generous if any are unsold, although my last stay I did say at checkin I would definitely checkout next day and not need a late checkout (I had IC Amstel booked the next few nights)

I booked a one award the Saturday of Kingsday weekend the day before arrival

I got there 0930 asked to leave my suitcase and was told they could check me into a J-suite right there and then.

if you want lounge access too, that is 65euro extra which I declined in favour of paying for breakfast.
