This is wrong. SDC doesn't send you to the bottom of the upgrade list, but you don't retain free upgrades that were confirmed on your previous flight. However, SDS usually means that you clear after all upgrades have been given out on your new flight, so no upgrade for you since you can't go onto the upgrade list until you're confirmed onto the flight.
