I'd like to get some insight on a discrepancy I seem to be having with SPG.
Long story short, I stayed 10 nights during the period, two of which were at a non-participating hotel, and of course I didn't receive the double starpoints as expected. However, I personally interpreted the T&C a little bit (a lot) different than the chat person I was engaging because I read them to mean that every 5 nights at an eligible rate would earn the 1K bonus up to 4 times. Especially since the "Earning" section specifically references non-participating hotels, but the "Bonusing" sections does not.

There was a similar case within the last couple of years. IIRC the person appealed to the lurkers or escalated and eventually got their points. It seemed like a similar case of the T&C not being worded carefully for both types of extra points from the promo.
