I guess numerous flights to NYC have made me very annoyed with Toronto's largely useless subway.
There was construction started on a subway line to Renforth and YYZ that was cancelled when the Mike Harris Conservatives were elected (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eglinton_West_line). The subway tunnel was then back-filled. The same folks sold off highway 407 to a company in Spain. The funded plan for LRTs toward YYZ that was part of Transit City was stopped the day Rob Ford took office as mayor. These "visionary" politicians are against transit initiatives that are not their own.
