Misc Questions

What do people think of Chase vs. Citi for these benefits? It seems Citi will cover you after only 3 hours of delay, but you must purchase the entire ticket on the card?

Does Chase or Citi have a more streamlined and quick claims process?

What exactly is this millitary excuse? Is it a template in airline computer systems that gate agents can readily access & print out? Can you just print the flifo instead i.e. from the airlines web site or from ExpertFlyer? A google search of millitary excuse brought up this thread? I guess next time I can ask the agent if they've ever heard of a "millitary excuse," form?

I ended up applying & getting both CSP and AA Citi Platinum Select, but I guess this particular Citi card only covers after a 12 hour delay. Apparently only the Citi Prestige and Citi Executive AA card have the more favorable 3 hour coverage? Maybe I will be able to switch the card out or wait 8 days and apply for one of those two cards?

But its great CSP covers you if you only pay the taxes on the card. A common scenario for me might be buying JetBlue tickets using my TravelBank credit. Right now I have about $1,500 in TravelBank. So instead of using the full ticket value out of TravelBank I could charge the fare from TravelBank and the taxes on CSP. A similar scenario might apply to Southwest flyers who are using ticketless travel funds.
