Worth noting that there now seems to be a new system at JFK. Instead of the pre-printed info sheet (that I think was printed at the central taxi holding lot), the dispatcher at the terminal now prints an info sheet from a handheld device. It says the destination, the fare ("Metered + .30 cent surcharge" for my destination), and in huge letters, "TAKE AND KEEP THIS RECEIPT! DO NOT GIVE TO ANYONE!"
Sounds like a way to help people fight scams like this one.
The handheld device also prints a "shorty" receipt for Brooklyn/Queens trips as well.
Interesting, are these the same ones they are giving out at EWR? I hadn't flown into EWR for over 10 years and assumed it was just their standard practice. Resulted in a huge hold-up and the taxi queue. Now I wish I would have taken a photo to post it.
