I go with the free HGI breakfast instead of points (I actually like the HGI breakfast, its a consistent, nice hearty breakfast). I had to go check exactly what my default is for Hampton and its water and snack (they always seems to give you more than they have to) and Homestead is water and Pepperidge Farm cookies. In contast I did change Embassy Suites to the Points because its a thousand points (versus the 250 at Hampton and Homewood) and I have found their snack to be quite lackluster and/or not getting my full snack allocation.
