I'd have to say so far it seems Singapore is the only country to have openly embraced Uber and the likes. Check out what the prime minister's said about its inevitability and potential benefits to the transportation system as a whole: http://www.pmo.gov.sg/media-release/transcript-speech-prime-minister-lee-hsien-loong-nuss-60th-anniversary-lecture-3-oct
China's been taking leaves out of Singapore's books in policy making and I think this is something I'd like to see happen: for China to come up with an effective framework to regulate the industry and not shun them just because incumbents don't like them. I nearly missed my flight out of PVG the other day cos there was no cab available. Thanks to the airline groundstaff I arrived 30 mins before check in and they let me thru.
