Some will say my suggestion of doing a chargeback is also entirely morally wrong, but hey, AC [expletive] up in the first place
Yeah I've had this experience. Last year I booked a flight using someone else's points and AC tried to charge me for a second bag. Apparently the system won't allow the agent to add your AP # to the ticket, and despite me showing them my 50k card, they still tried to charge me and did. Ended up getting the $ back, but took a little while.
