Yep, you're right again there Tide!
The headline rate is cheaper booking through the Emerald Club, but that obviously doesn't include ANY fees or LDW etc. Booking through the National UK site without putting the Emerald Club number in gives an all inclusive package including all fees & LDW, so it actually works out cheaper for us to do it that way.
I emailed National customer service & they said it was no problem to add my emerald club number onto the booking when I get to the counter at LAX, which would then give me access to the EA (I'm just a bog standard member as I've just joined).
I'm at LAX in the afternoon on 14th May, so I'm hoping there are some Challengers or Camaros on the EA then (preferably a Challenger!) as dwbf11 suggested there could be, but if not I'm hoping the fact I have an FCAR reservation rather than a mid size, plus the fact we're a couple of Brits on our honeymoon might persuade one of the nice attendants to let us have one anyway!
If not, with an FCAR reservation I will definitely get at least a Charger I think? (if they have any)
I suppose they are all V6's there? A V8 Charger would make up for it not being a Challenger!
