If you booked a Deluxe Suite and you got anything less I would have thought the property owes you a near complete reimbursement even ignoring any relationship you have with Starwood.
I'm finding this report a bit of a shame, as I've been looking forward to going to your hotel for a few years now but haven't quite found the right time to do so.
