LAX-ATL-JNB. Easy decision.

The extra miles on the MSP route will not be worth the stress of the short connection prior to a long haul flight. Plus more time with butt in seat prior to a long flight is not good.

And that is just if things work out.

Take the simple route, and use some of that extra layover time to walk around.
