IME the redemption emails go to the email address on your SM account.

The booking confirmations go to whatever email you put in the booking (i forget whether it's on the passenger info or payment screen).

I also appreciate the redemption messages. SPG does the same thing. They don't bother me when they show up, and are a nice safety to quickly catch compromised accounts.
