This. GA will happily call a redcoat to process your refund after the flight has been dispatched.
But seriously, C+ refunds can be handled pretty easily via the online form, after the flight, if it was indeed involuntary. If a C+ seat is that important, double check seat maps the day of the flight and get the GA to work it out as soon as you get to the gate, not after the whole plane has boarded.
Taking a later flight is also an option if your seat selection is very important to you and your schedule is flexible.
Either way, very happy to see that the FAs took care of OP on this flight.
