In J i'd say go for the longer flight. More miles, and more time to sleep. JFK is just too short. My JFK-LCY flight a few months ago was just 5h50m runway to runway. That doesn't leave much time for a good sleep.

And you know that both CLT and RDU have AA flights direct to LHR?
