Assuming you booked the flight with a credit card, you should check to see if your credit card offers any sort of travel delay protection. At least with US credit cards, many will reimburse things like hotel rooms, ground transport and food, if you have a delay over a certain length. I've seen a number of cards that will reimburse up to $500 for delays over 12 hours, but some cards will reimburse for delays as little as 3 hours.

If your card happens to have that coverage, it would give you more peace of mind about the short evening connection.
