IB lounge in Panama is landside only.

I was quite surprised when I landed in PTY in transit from HAV to MAD on an IB ticket co-shared with Copa. The big surprise was that I had to "enter" Panama through immigration to access the 3rd party lounge. - it is land side and not available to air-side folks in transit. Hummmm, perhaps some re-thinking is in order if IB is trying to expand in this region.

The head ache was worth it: a small and quiet lounge with limited variety of drinks served. Food supposedly served later (it is now 1:30 pm and the IB 6346 leaves @ 17:45). The snacks are hard-crisp style tiny bread slices with a VERY nice tuna spread. When I ordered white rum and water, I got a triple with ice (!!) and a 300 ml bottle of still water. WOW!! Be careful with that style of drinking and eating

Very strong and fast wi-fi as compared to the Copa lounge in PTY that I used last week on the way to HAV with the CM code-shared.

After a week travelling in the Central America region I am looking forward to arriving in MAD tomorrow morning and visiting the nice IB lounge there
