This. With AC, it's like "I'm so sorry that I have to bug you". I always have this mentality. And it's usually with reluctance that they're like...fine, here you go Mr. Penguin.

I'm not usually one to gripe about AC, but you hit the nail on the head. This flies in the face of Asian airlines like BR, CX as we talked about at the YOW Do a few days ago. And then there's some on here who call BR, CX, SQ FA's servants....like really? These are customer facing roles here. Their job is to ensure passenger safety and to serve its customers. Have we really become so used to "crap" service?
