If I might interupt for just a second to address the question asked?

Originally the TalkBoard and I had discussed their involvement in selection of these moderators sometime in the last year. Somehow the ball was dropped and I'll take that responsibility. I thought that because moderatos are sometimes misunderstood that it be best if I take that flack rather than those that serve as volunteers on the TalkBoard.

Anyway, so much time went by I thought I'd just open things up again and that way I'd know for sure who was still interested. True, there were some 15 applications before but my guess is that lifestyle and other commitments make make that number smaller this time. I am happy to report receiving your application ScottC and to date we have several dozen members interested in helping others. Its reading the applications that has made my day - I get a sense that we've really been able to contribute to people's travel lives with FlyerTalk.

Now, most of the applications are members I don't know so I'm selecting some of their posts at random to see how they participate as members on FlyerTalk. We have some really, really well balanced people. I think we'll announce a few new members within another week or so. If your application non-response left you feeling cool about the idea - again, I am responsible and very sorry. I hope you all can still appreciate that I am a very stretched out sponsor of FlyerTalk and that my walk unfortunately is shorter than my talk.

As you were.....uh, maybe that's not the right thing to say.

What if i appoint (only temporarily) Oz and ScottC moderators of this particular thread. Can you both help me keep it on topic and this way I'll be able to see if you're up to the job and responsibility of being considered moderators. It's sort of like being a 'crossing guard' in grade school. Other kids will laugh at you at first and you'll go through a stage of insecurity and then one day you'll be proudly helping the other kids across the street and they will be thankful. But you only get there by minding the teacher..... OK, moderators, do your job.
