So since there are a few threads around concerning the same issue, I thought it would be a good idea to get everything into a combined thread outlining the problem.
It appears a large number of accounts have been blocked after the BA hack and implementation of new Avios scheme. It seems unclear what actually caused the problem.
The big issues so far are a complete inability to even get a quote on an Avios booking and having combine my avios be disabled.
To resolve, you can try sending an email to
[email protected]. Note that if you send an email, you should get a confirmation email regarding the reception. If you don't, something failed with the delivery.
You can also try calling the main number at +34 901 201 241.
In either case be sure to mention that the account is blocked and you would like to unblock it. You may have better luck if you call the number and speak Spanish.
My personal experience is that I called the number and was told a questionnaire would be sent to my email. I was told on the first call it would be immediately after the call and I just got off the phone where they informed me that it would be between 2-3 calender days to receive.
Supposedly that will resolve the issue completely, but I have my doubts. Has anyone gotten their account successfully unblocked and actually used the disabled features?
