As a DINK (Dual Income No Kids) I'm sometimes annoyed by companies that bend over backward to accommodate families with children. I understand that traveling with children can be a hassle but it's also a choice, just like it's a choice to fly a first come, first serve airline like Southwest. There are several options available to get into the same boarding group and if worst comes to worst the FAs could work their magic to seat families together. Allowing families to "ditch" in line isn't a very good solution.
