I was using IHG IOS mobile app to check rates for some hotels. In order to see the estimated total price (includes resort fees and taxes), one need to go thru the booking process until the last screen. While I was on the last screen, my phone slipped and I accidentally touched the "Make Reservation" area at the bottom of the screen, which means I booked the non refundable rate. So I immediate cancelled the reservation. Then, I called the customer service, who in turn called the hotel, who said she will put a note on the reservation so I won't be charged. Did anyone experience similar situation? Should I be worry that I'll be charged for the reservation later?
In a similar situation (fuelled by my stupidity) I called the hotel and they took care of scrapping the reservation.
But, I think a formal cooling-off period would be a great idea, to allow recovery from accidents, unintentional acceptances and plain stupidity
